Catalyzer Sponsors Change Management Day for Leadership Greater Huntsville
Lansing, Kansas – April 25, 2025: Catalyzer sponsored Change Management Day at Leadership Greater Huntsville’s Management Academy 15, appropriately scheduled on April 15th. The day included presentations by Catalyzer as well as two local leaders.
“Management Academy offers a dynamic curriculum to participants over the course of 10 months,” said Samantha Cooper, program director. “Selection for the cohort is rigorous, and results from our engaging sessions cover essential skills that show up quickly in personal mastery, organizational contribution, and community service.”
Steve Ingalls, Catalyzer’s President and CEO, said guiding organizations through change is an essential leadership competency. He referenced Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ill-fated exploration of the Antarctic a century ago, a difficult mission made nearly impossible when almost everything went wrong.
Yet Shackleton brought every explorer safely home.
“Change and challenge are inevitable,” Ingalls said. “What makes the difference between success and failure often comes down to the character and resourcefulness of one or two leaders.”
“We came to show MA15 leaders that they can be that force to guide others through uncertain times.
To do that, Ingalls assembled a team that included Catalyzer board member Joe Sagrilla, who provided a comprehensive overview of the organizational change process. Senior Catalyzer facilitator Jon Smidt, took it down several levels to explore individual grappling with change and how to target specific problem areas.
Additionally, local pastor and motivational speaker Jason Parks revealed five questions that drive change, and retired Maj. Gen. Vinnie Boles shared three predictable challenges that accompany change in an organization.
“The day was an overwhelming success from my perspective, and the participant reviews echo that,” said Cooper. “But then, that’s what we expected, because Leadership Greater Huntsville had already leveraged Steve’s insights in other settings.”
