Igniting Change

Leadership

Government

We’ve worked with counties of all sizes to help employees across all levels of seniority, function, and experience to gain new leadership skills. Catalyzer can assist when governmental organizations are straddling administration changes that require thinking through change and alignment with the larger county strategic direction as new leaders move those organizations forward.

Every county’s circumstances, especially geography and constituency, drive the requirement for customized programs that address unique needs. Fixed budgets challenge investment in leadership development, driving leaders to state and national associations like the National Association of Counties or International City/County Management Association (ICMA). Catalyzer’s county-wide programs are proving to be an effective approach.

Importantly, when launching a leadership program in your county, ensure buy-in and participation from elected officials. Their participation (or lack thereof) ultimately drives efficacy for their subordinates.

Recommended programs

We work with a variety of different county agencies and we understand that, while some programs are useful for most, each program has unique challenges that require custom solutions. Programs typically include discussions around Leadership Foundations, Emotional Intelligence, Communications, Conflict Management, and Practical Team Building.

In our recent work with a Criminal Justice Services Division, nearly 70 employees are participating and negotiating modules focused on communication, delegation and decision-making, emotional intelligence, and generational leadership. These topics were selected based on employee feedback and balanced against the new administration’s strategic initiatives.

Let’s start your journey to greatness!
